Hi, I'm Max! I am a Registered Social Worker based in the Toronto area supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, families, and communities. I am a trans man who is also an athlete, a musician, an amateur aquarium enthusiast, and a “dog Dad,” and I love checking out local coffee shops on the weekend.
I have been a competitive athlete throughout my life, and have recently had the chance to play for the first all-trans hockey team to take the ice in Canada. Beyond my work in the field of social work, I am excited by opportunities to create affirming spaces in sports, because I truly believe no one should have to choose between being who they are and doing what they love.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Music Therapy from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Toronto, specializing in working with children and families. I have received training in modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, and draw from these and other therapeutic techniques to meet the unique needs of each client.
I seize opportunities for professional development that will help me to grow and better serve my clients and communities, and am grateful for the invaluable learning I receive from each and every person who trusts me with their story. Beyond that, I am engaged in ongoing work to understand and challenge oppression in my practice and the communities I am a part of, recognizing that this is an ongoing and lifelong journey.
My professional experience spans across roles and organizations including non-profits, community agencies, and public sector supports, where I have had the chance to work with children, youth, and families of a wide range of identities and lived experiences. In particular, I have dedicated much of my career to opportunities to support neurodivergent and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.
